Met Workplace points new snow warning throughout six areas | Climate | Information

The Met Workplace has issued a brand new climate warning overlaying half a dozen areas as a chilly spell descends on the UK this morning, leaving widespread ice and settled snow.

Forecasters have stated six areas and dozens extra areas will see snow and ice this night, with the alert commencing from 6pm and persevering with till Sunday morning.

The alert states: “Areas of rain, sleet, and away from instant coastal areas, snow, are anticipated to push north and east throughout the world later this night and into the early hours of Sunday.

“While not in all places will see accumulating snow, some locations will seemingly see 1 to 3cm, with 5 to 10cm doable over some hills and mountains of Wales, the Peak District and south Pennines. Ice will likely be a further hazard.”

The alert covers six areas in whole; the East Midlands, North East England, North West England, Wales, the West Midlands, and Yorkshire & Humber.
