For now, the figures in hospitals remain low. The vaccination is complete for more than 79.7% of the population. How many French people are vaccinated against Covid?

Vaccination against Covid-19 continues in France. At June 6, 2022, 53.5 million French people are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 according to figures published by the government: 79.7% have a complete primary vaccination and 59.6% of French people are vaccinated with a booster dose, according to Santé Publique France. The booster dose vaccination coverage was 74.4% among those aged 18 and over and 84.3% among those aged 65 and over. In addition, 9.8% of children aged 10 to 11 had received a first dose of vaccine (3.3% for 5 to 9 year olds).

What are the Covid figures for vaccinated and unvaccinated?

79.7% of the French population is fully vaccinated and 19.2% is not vaccinated (the others having a still incomplete vaccination schedule). Twice a month, the Data-gouv.fr site publishes the distribution of positive Covid cases according to the person’s vaccination. “This delay is necessary for the vaccination to be considered complete and effective (at +7 days) and for the data on the tests to be consolidated” specifies the site. These indicators reflect the number of positive RT-PCR tests per 100,000 vaccinated or unvaccinated people aged 20 and over.

How many Covid deaths in France?

Government and Public Health France sites report Covid deaths in hospitals and in social and medico-social establishments, i.e. 162,479 to June 9, 2022 according to the ECDC. Covid deaths outside these structures are not recorded in real time.

Due to the Covid-19 epidemic, INSEE recorded a “exceptional mortality in 2020” with almost 669,000 deaths from all causes, i.e. 56,000 more deaths than in 2019 (+9%).

According to INED68,000 deaths are attributable to the Covid epidemic in 2020.
