This month of June is rich in novelties, and especially on the side of the French. Here is a small overview of what awaits us for the first month of summer!

BMW X1 & iX1

BMW is off to a very strong start this month of June, with the presentation of its new premium compact SUV, the X1.

This is the 3rd generation of the BMW X1, which was highly anticipated (the current opus dates from 2015). And the Bavarian firm has even launched a 100% electric version, the iX1.

The X1 takes up the technical basis of the last 2 Series Active Tourer, and sees its size grow by 5 cm in length (4.50 m), 4.5 cm in height (1.64 m) and 2.5 cm in width (1.85 m). Its design evolves by subtle touches with a deeper bonnet, simplified optics, an inverted light signature, more rectangular nostrils, shields with boomerang scoops and flush door handles.

In terms of the passenger compartment, there is a real leap forward. It also uses the furniture of the Series 2 Active Tourer: same dashboard, same “floating” center console, same gear selector and, above all, same curved panel with 10.25” digital counters and 10.7” multimedia screen. .

Regarding the engines, the X1 will be available in thermal engine (136 to 211 hp), with a light hybridization, and in electric (313 hp for 440 km of autonomy).

Citroen C5 Aircross

Very popular with families thanks to its maximum roominess and top-flight comfort, the C5 Aircross will undergo a real polish. Launched in 2017, the flagship family SUV is undergoing a major overhaul this year.

Citroen intends to work twice as hard to catch up on the Peugeot 3008.So in addition to comfort and spaciousness, the C5 Aircross also wants to bet on its look. The front face, for example, has been extensively redesigned and features a more modern style, as well as a new light signature.

The interior is also evolving with a new 10-inch touch screen, new personalization atmospheres, as well as a new design for the central console.

DS7 Crossback

After its cousins ​​3008, Grandland and C5 Aircross, the DS 7 Crossback also benefits from a restyling mid-career.

Facelift obliges, the evolutions should be above all essentially of an aesthetic order. It will take up the new design and light signature that appeared on the compact DS4, with in particular the new vertical LED strips under the spotlights.

The front should sport a sober and clean design, without superfluous details. The updates should be lighter on the back, with the appearance of a new chrome strip between the two headlights, at most. On the engine side, this restyled DS7 should offer petrol and diesel units as well as a plug-in hybrid version. And this last engine could take over the recent block of 250 horsepower introduced on the DS9.

Peugeot 408

Unsurprisingly, it is the queen car of this month of June. Even of the year! After a year 2021 marked by the very successful 308, this time the Sochaux brand is about to unveil a “fast-back” version. The model, named 408, is highly anticipated. And it will be presented in the next few weeks!

And this new coupe sedan will rely on a decidedly sportier style. On the program, a reduced glazed surfacea aggressive face and an steeply sloping stern. In terms of dimensions, this future model will have a length of between 4.50 meters and 4.70 meters. The wheelbase will be close to 2.74 meters.

Volkswagen ID. 5 & ​​ID.5 GTX

At the house of volkswagen, the month of June marks the arrival of the large electric SUV theID.5 and its sportier version.

With its new MEB platform, the group intends to make the billions invested profitable and declines its electrified variants as much as possible. At Volkswagen, after the compact sedan ID.3 and the SUV ID.4, it is the turn of the SUV coupe ID.5 to point the tip of its nose.

It differs from the “4” by its receding roof line and its sloping rear window, but also by its specific shields, its gray roof arches and its black roof. In the passenger compartment, nothing changes, except that the ID.5 has an enriched endowment, with a reversing camera, the hands-free key, as well as an increased touch screen (12 inches).
